My Story
Sirish Ramkumar – a Business Leader with a Vision
Sirish Ramkumar is a B Sc. Visual Communication graduate from the famed Loyola College, Chennai, India and is today a multi-dimensional business leader with an exemplary track record of initiative, vision and success coupled with tremendous humility and dignity.
Sirish Ramkumar set up Al Qabandi Group WLL in 1997 with a capital of just $ 2,000 in the space of defense contracts and services with an aim to provide a host of services to the US Defense present in Kuwait at the time. With almost no capital in hand, Sirish was able to get investors, banks, partners, suppliers to believe in his ability to build value that would then become a part of his long-term business belief which is entirely based on long term relationships that go well beyond the boardroom. In 2002, Al Qabandi set up operations a subsidiary in the UAE called Gulf Master General Trading LLC. With operations between the UAE and Kuwait, Sirish Ramkumar shuttled across the region building value and business with clients and partners alike.
By 2003, Sirish had begun to encourage new business initiatives and entrepreneurs to bring forth their ideas, thereby becoming a serial entrepreneur and angel investor with an active support system that would help such businesses to grow.

Sirish’s maverick approach to business, people and family at an early age led him to becoming a member of the YPO in 2018 where he has shared his learnings from a practical perspective having built, operated and sold several businesses; insights into the challenges therein and the wealth of unparalleled information that has hugely benefited fellow YPO members and visitors alike.
